Kiez Mobil – Glassmaking on the Move!
The Kiez Mobil brings the ancient craft of glassmaking out of the studio and into the heart of the community.
Since 2017, our mobile workshop has traveled across Berlin—into schoolyards, refugee homes, youth centers, and public spaces—creating access to a material and a tradition that is rarely within reach. What usually requires specialized equipment and years of training becomes, through the Kiez Mobil, immediate, tactile, and open to all.
At its core, glass is about transformation and simple elements shaped through care and attention. In our workshops, this process becomes a shared experience. Children work with their hands, learn to understand the material, and discover what it means to make something from start to finish.
The Kiez Mobil is dedicated to working with young people and underserved communities. It creates a space where curiosity is welcomed, skills are built, and confidence grows—often in places where access to cultural and artistic education is limited.
More than a workshop, it is a meeting point. A place where stories are exchanged, where different backgrounds come together, and where making becomes a common language.
Bring the Kiez Mobil to your community!
If you are an organization or school, get in touch to book a workshop. Our public classes make it possible for us to offer these workshops free of charge.
